TEDx Amsterdam ook in Rotterdam te volgen Vrijdag 20 november as is The Hub Rotterdam 1 van de vijftien officiële side-locaties in Nederland waar het hele TEDx programma van 9 - 21 uur via een livestream te volgen zal zijn. Je hoeft dus niet naar Amsterdam waar in het overvolle Tropeninstituut (440 aanwezigen met een wachtlijst van ruim 2000 aanmeldingen) een keur aan sprekers daar het podium betreedt. Happiness is... skating on natural ice

At least that is the conclusion we came to when only one brave person showed up for Sunday's TED Talks The Hague gathering at Tennispark Berg & Dal. Granted, the feeling of euphoria that can accompany skating along on a frozen lake with the sun shining and the farmhouses glistening in the wintry air is one of life's greatest joys. TED-Talks The Hague, Take Two

The afternoon was one of snow and ice. Yet there were 7 of us gathered in the gallery at Tennispark Berg & Dal. Aline came all the way from Breda! The room was cold, but the hearts were warm and so was the soup. Before we started I ran home to pick up my camera and grabbed a bunch of 'woollies' so we could wrap ourselves up. We also did some exercises in between the videos to get warm and drank plenty of hot drinks. It was a very special afternoon indeed.

Did You Know 3.0

I work in e-commerce, an industry that still had to be invented ten years ago. Although the core of my work hasn't changed, I had to reinvent a lot of hard-earned skills. How do you prepare school kids for a world like this?

Oprah interviewt Daniel Pink over A Whole New Mind

A Whole New Mind by Daniel Pink is a must read for anyone who wonders if he has chosen the right career - and who doesn't once in a while? I read it 2 years ago - expecting a "rah rah, just follow your dreams!" kinda book - but was surprised by Pink's captivating, persuasive and balanced approach. Quote from the back cover:
